Women & Nausea-The Stereotype

So a few weeks ago, I felt yucky. I had an upset stomach like you wouldn't believe. I was nauseous, couldn't eat, and I just wanted to stay in bed and feel sorry for myself. But as soon as I told anybody that asked what was wrong with me...they automatically said "Are you pregnant?" WHY is it that if a woman is nauseous that people assume that she's pregnant? Why can't we just have an upset stomach!?! It's annoying and stereotypical. I don't like stereotypes. I had a stomach ache...so what. It was just a stomach ache. Nothing else. *Rolls eyes* You'd think that as adults we'd all be able to overcome stereotyping but obviously not. This is something that's been assumed about me before...stomach ache=pregnant. NO. That's not the only reason for a stomach ache, you stereotypers!

I had to rant about that. I'm not going to apologize for it. I'm tired of it. Maybe tomorrow's blog will be a better topic...and that the next time I have a stomach ache, I won't be stereotyped...
